About us

Social Studies is a creative agency specializing in hospitality concepts and experiences. We collaborate with visionary partners to build or refine their identity, blending strategic insight with industry expertise to craft distinctive, memorable venues.

We see hospitality as a living narrative, crafted by vision, design and rooted in culture and community. Taking a sociological approach, we examine how hospitality spaces influence behavior, build connections, and create meaningful experiences. This understanding informs every decision—from spatial flow that encourages specific interactions to cultural programming that fosters genuine community, and design elements that guide guest behavior and emotional response.

The result: distinctive spaces that not only stand out aesthetically but create lasting cultural impact and foster genuine connections.

About the Founder

As Brand Director, Julia Moshy brings a producer's perspective to hospitality development. Born and raised in New York City, Julia possesses an innate understanding of the city's cultural landscape and social dynamics.

This unique perspective informs each project—from building comprehensive brand visions and narratives to crafting distinctive atmospheres, curating communities, and anticipating market evolution.

Julia's approach is exemplified in the development of Casa Cipriani, where in 2020 she was instrumental in shaping pre-opening business development, partnerships, and cultural & community curation. Julia helped establish what quickly became one of New York's most coveted destinations. Her continued role as Cultural Director for a year post-opening ensured the concept's successful evolution and cultural foothold.

With experience across diverse markets and a carefully cultivated network spanning hospitality, entertainment, and lifestyle brands, Julia connects concepts with the right collaborators, partners, and audiences. This holistic approach ensures each project develops its own cultural gravity while maintaining lasting relevance in a constantly evolving marketplace.
